Found on Jan. 1, Osechi is a New Year’s darling
About the size of a 4-month old kitten, Osechi is a tiny Chihuahua that was picked up off the streets by police on New Year’s Day.
Entrusted to ARK, he was christened after the Japanese traditional fare prepared for the new year.
In the unlikely case that owners were looking for him, Osechi was not initially eligible for adoption and remained under the radar until April. During that time, the little chap became ensconced in the Osaka ARK office, where he can often be found sleeping on someone’s lap.
Despite his small size and short legs, he is made for walking. When it’s time for a stroll, great excitement ensues. Osechi will spin around and practically skip with excitement as he ventures into the great outdoors.
Estimated at about 12 years of age, he’s a sweet, gentle boy, and friendly and courteous with other dogs. He’s also very quiet, except for a bit of barking when no lap is to be found. The office, however, is only staffed during the day, and we would love for Osechi to find someone who could keep him company round the clock.
