Ukraine’s drone war has a lesson China cannot manufacture
China dominates drone manufacturing. DJI, the Chinese drone maker Da-Jiang Innovations, alone holds roughly 70% of the global market and its components remain the single largest share inside the small attack drones flying over Ukraine on both sides of the conflict.
By the logic that has governed every tech-strategy conversation for a decade — America designs, Asia builds and China is spending a fortune to do both — that dominance should be the whole story.
It isn’t. Ukraine discovered something China’s factories cannot manufacture and cannot buy: battlefield learning.
